It just keeps getting better
I've been playing GW since the first E3 for Everyone Event, and I must say I love how it just keeps getting better. Since the game has come out Anet has made major changes to the game, at the request of the community, on a weekly basis. I've played many games and it seems like Anet is trying to conform the game to how people play instead of trying to make people conform to the game. The fact that they are going to implement a PvP rewards system (hopefully today) is proof that they are listening to the community. The addition of more NPC traders to stabalize the economy, making several high end PvP arenas instead of spreading PvP arenas over the whole game, and future additions like higher challenges for obsidian armor wearers, New explorable areas and PvP observer mode are just proof that more is coming.
Keep up the good work Anet, because GW is some of the best $50 I've ever spent on a game.

In english. Lower the game to the standards of the simpletons instead of forcing the simpletons to raises their standards. Classic Americanism.

Yet another ignorant negative response to a positive thread. Classic Non-Americanism.

May I ask how standards of the game has been lowered? Please elaborate using concrete examples and ideas.

I was thinking about making a thread just like this.
I'd love to thank the dev's for this game... they seriously rule.
They make practicly everything more fun, and for free! What the hey-who...
I've been in games where you play monthly and not gotten near the response for the community. Not to mention such a great way to report things that are against the terms... and getting fast responses is nice, very lovely... you don't see things like that in a game where you pay 13$ or so a month... i really hope they're making plenty of money off this game... i plan on buying the expansions and probably staying with this game till the end of time. Whoop. It's the first game where i can have fun testing so many different combo's... there's more then millions of great combo's per character, and then, you go into combo's per team... and wow... i could talk on, and on about this.
Thanks to Anet, i have a game i like to play, and don't have to cough up any extra money.
End of story.

Keep the positive posts coming! I agree this game was easily the best 160 bucks I ever shelled out. (got 2 collectors editions one for me one for the wife). We play a lot and we finally have a game we enjoy playing online together. She was and evercrack addict I was a WOW fiend now we both love this game and will stay as long as the expansions keep rolling!

i love this game too. worth the $50. not having to worry about wasting month fee is good for me. but this was not the only factor that i considered this game. if it's a crappy game, the free monthly play would not appeal me. i like the way Anet response to gamers. they may not have made the best decisions, but they make me feel their presence. it is also a big step forward in creating successful MORPG (i think i should drop the first M, as it's not as massive as other).
once again. great job. i'd love to see more from anet. (but would i have the time lol)

I would like to add my compliments to the team ... there are a million and 1 ideas pouring from this community and actually being able to prioritize and DO a few is huge. You really do care about your gamers. I am hooked ... like 6 hours a night when I go home ... doin whatever ... elite skill caps ... runs with guildies to aid there quests / missions ... hang out in a town ... go pvp ... whatever I got it all goin on all the time ... (but running outta skills fyi ...) please ban <<<< so he cant get them all nerf Xgammon j/k ....
what a balance ... like a weight of reality it dropped on the game and sent those living in their bubbles into shock ... you have done a fantastic job ... keep up the good work ...

I sort of hope they will add the possibility for players to donate some money on top of buying expansions. I am so satisfied, I wouldnt mind giving them another 50$ while I wait for expansions, and I do hope the no fee system pays off for them.

Well if you have that kind of money to throw around, its up to you.
As for me I have a question...im lvl 15 and so far Guild Wars has been the same joining a party going into a map, killing monstars, picking up items, and following a meaningless plot. I havn't played in about 3 weeks. I've tried listening to music while I play to releive bordom, but that isnt' how a game should be played.
I hear that when you get to lvl 20, theres guild halls, guild wars (the whole purpose of the game) and competitive gameplay. Am I correct? Does it get better?

the game is definatley worth the 30 quid i payed for it but it doesnt save it from the fact that its totally carebear. no pk's, no scammers, little/no thieves.
come on? this is roleplay wrapped in cotton wool. it lacks edge imo and most of all freedom which is against the principles of the genre just to make cash
i ahve been playing for the most part an ultima online publish 15 shard (based in britain) and though it would be a good idea to try out some of the more modern approaches to online rpg/crpg. so i tried wow and gw
big mistake in my opinion, this cobblers has went the way of the music industry (crazyfrog anyone). there is the potential for a great game here being suffocated to keep the dollars rollin in.
enjoy

You can do that before.. Find yourself a guild, or set one up yourself. Playing with friends and making them adds another side to the game...
I'm glad someone made a worthwhile thread of appreciation Seems like all a lot of people do around here is whinge about this, it gets changed, and other people whinge about it, and the original whingers whinge again because it's not exactly how they'd've done it. For crying out loud!
I love this game. I've made new friends, learnt a lot about balance in games and how to solve problems, and also how a community based game goes. This is my second mmorpg, and it's my favourite. And I'll play it til I get pressure sores.
